Lakers Finish Season At CCAC Championships

CHANNAHON, Ill. – The Roosevelt Lakers women's cross country team finished its 2022 season by running in the 2022 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in Channahon. Due to an on-course administrarive error, the Lakers only had three runners eligible for placement and therefore were not awarded a team score.

Angie Delgado paced the Lakers with a 42nd-place finish in a time of 22 minutes and 35.2 seconds for the 5K course. Destiny Ashcraft ran the course in 24:34.6 to finish in 60th place overall and Tatiana Rodriguez finished in 28:14.8 to place 69th. Angela Louis and Afnan Totonchi were not awarded official times after mistakenly being sent into the finishing chute a lap early by officials on the course.

St. Francis (Ill.) won its eighth straight conference title by 24 points over Olivet Nazarene by placing all seven runners inside the top-12. Ana Pineda won the race in 18:36.2 just three seconds ahead of her teammate, Katherine Bakken.
