Frankie Rodriguez Takes Over As Interim Track & Field Head Coach
CHICAGO – Frankie Rodriguez has been named the interim head coach of the Roosevelt University men's and women's cross country and track and field programs after the departure of Austin Warner earlier this month.
Rodriguez joined the Lakers for the 2022-23 season as a volunteer assistant before being elevated to assistant coach for the 2023-24 campaign. The Bolingbrook native ran cross country for four years at Robert Morris from 2016-2019 and also ran for the track and field team for three seasons.
"Coach Rodriguez is a significant asset to our program and his positive work with our student-athletes is well-demonstrated," Vice President for Athletics and Student-Athlete Success Mike Cassidy said. "I am appreciative of him stepping into this role and know he possesses the skills to continue the growth of our program."
A search for a full-time replacement is scheduled to begin immediately.
Roosevelt's indoor track and field season continues Saturday with the Pat Herman Invite hosted by North Central College in Naperville.
