Petrica Named CCAC Tennis Player Of Week

CHICAGO – Teodora Petrica became the third Roosevelt tennis player this season to be named the Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

The freshman from Romania is ranked No. 47 in the latest NAIA polls and nearly got a boost last week when she faced Marion's Yasmin Imamniyazova, who was ranked 22^nd. Petrica battled in a tight 7-5, 7-6 defeat before responding with a 7-5, 6-3 win over highly-touted Madeline Gentry of Wheaton College later in the week.

Petrica joins teammate Malena Moya and men's player Victor Dorojan as members of the tennis program to earn a weekly accolade from the CCAC.
