Moya Earns CCAC Player Of Week Honors

CHICAGO – Freshman Malena Moya was named the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis Player of the Week on Thursday after securing her first collegiate victory against Lawrence on March 9.

The Argentinian easily defeated her NCAA Division III opponent at No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-1 in her collegiate debut. The quiet but strong freshman added an 8-0 win in doubles alongside Alyssa Owens, making quite an impact in her first action for the Lakers.   

Moya is the first player in program history to earn conference player of the week honors.
