Darian Lucas Scores With 39 Seconds Remaining to Earn Lakers a 1-1 Tie With Judson in CCAC Conference Women's Soccer Match

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University women's soccer team earned a 1-1 CCAC Conference tie versus Judson University on a goal by Darian Lucas with just 39 seconds left in the game on Saturday, October 8 at Morris Field.  The Lakers are now 3-4-3 overall and 3-2-2 in CCAC Conference play this season.

The two teams were evenly matched in the first half with Judson holding a slight 7-6 shot advantage.  However, the Lakers came the closest to scoring the game's first goal when Nerlyn Munoz and Nyah Bejarano had a nice combination play, but Munoz' shot ricocheted off the post and out.

After a scoreless first half, Judson only needed 24 seconds in the second half to take a 1-0 lead when Kelly Leon headed in an Alondra Blanco cross.  The Eagles continue to press in the first part of the second half, but the RU backline and goalkeeper Roxana Herrera held them scoreless the rest of the way.

Meanwhile, the Lakers pushed into the attack looking for the tying goal during the final 20 minutes, but were unable to convert heading into the game's final minute.  However, with 39 seconds left to go, Griselda Gurrola laid back a pass to Darian Lucas, who slotted her shot in the far corner to even the game at 1-1.
