Lakers Can't Keep Pace With St. Ambrose in CCAC Conference Women's Soccer Match

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Roosevelt University women's soccer team dropped a CCAC Conference game to St. Ambrose University (Iowa), losing by the score of 6-1 on Tuesday, September 20 at St. Vincent Athletic Complex.  The Lakers are now 1-2 in conference play and 1-4-1 overall on the year.

St. Ambrose jumped out to a quick lead just over five minutes into the game and continued with the momentum, scoring the next three goals in the first 25 minutes of the first half to lead 4-0.  The Lakers pulled one back when Meaghan Smith took a pass from Lola Arreola and bent her shot over the SAU goalkeeper to make it a 4-1 game.  That lead stood at the half with both teams managing seven shots each.

The Fighting Bees added to their margin with two goal second half goals in the 59th and 78th minutes while limiting the RU offense for the 6-1 final score.
