Lakers Fall to Campbellsville on Late Goal in Women's Soccer Contest

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Campbellsville University (Ky.) by the score of 3-2 on Saturday, August 28 at Morris Field to fall to 0-2 this season.

After falling behind 1-0 in the 13th minute, the Lakers got goals from Julia Szylke and Gabi Christidis within a two and a half minute span late in the first half to take a 2-1 lead.  RU nearly made it 3-1 early in the second half, but CU goalkeeper Riley Thompson made a great save on an upper corner shot by Paola Macias.  The Tigers tied the game in the 70th minute and scored the game winner in the 82nd minute to earn the 3-2 victory.
