Alexia Lohman's Career-High 27 Points Leads Lakers to CCAC Victory Over Olivet Nazarene

BOURBONNAIS, ILL. – Five Lakers registered double-digit scoring with freshman Alexia Lohman leading the way with a career-high 27 points to propel Roosevelt to a 106-91 road victory over Olivet Nazarene University in CCAC Conference action on Saturday night.

The Lakers (3-7, 2-2 CCAC) opened up a 10-2 lead to begin the game before the Tigers cut the margin down to two points at 10-8 with 5:54 to go in the first quarter.  However, the visitors scored the next 10 points to build a 20-8 advantage, closing out the opening period up 29-16.

The beginning of the second quarter was more of the same with the Lakers stretching their lead to 35-20 on a Jaylin Turchin layup.  Olivet Nazarene then scored the game's next eight points to pull to within 35-28, but the Lakers finished out the first half outscoring the Tigers 23-9 to take a 58-37 lead into the half.

Roosevelt built its largest lead of the game in the third quarter at 23 points, but the home team cut that margin down to 14 points at 83-69 at the end of the stanza.  The Tigers continued their momentum with a 7-1 run to trail by single digits at 84-76 with 7:39 to play.  However, the Lakers answered right back with a run of their own, outpacing ONU 13-4 to lead 97-80 with just under five minutes remaining, and held off the Tigers for the rest of the contest for the 106-91 league win.

Kencia Levasseur registered a double-double with a career-high 22 points to go with 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and two steals, while Ella Pritchard also recorded a career-high with 16 points and 8 rebounds.  Marie Outlay and Malou Savana both chipped in with 12 points.

This was the first time since February 2018 that the Lakers recorded over 100 points and ninth all-time with the last occurrence also at Olivet Nazarene.

Roosevelt continues CCAC Conference action on December 16 when it hosts Trinity Christian College with tip-off at 1pm in the Goodman Center.
