Women's Basketball Can't Overcome Indiana South Bend in CCAC Conference Loss

CHICAGO – The Roosevelt University women's basketball team lost its fifth consecutive CCAC Conference game, falling to Indiana University South Bend by the score of 92-59 on Monday, February 7 at the Goodman Center.  The loss dropped the Lakers conference record to 6-12 and their overall record to 7-15 this season.

Both teams went scoreless for the first two and a half minutes of the game before the Titans hit back-to-back buckets to take a 4-0 lead.  However, the Lakers scored eight straight points behind three-pointers by Mallory Hawkins and Amelia McNutt, along with a layup from Gabrielle Beggs, but Indiana South Bend then went on a 10-1 run to lead 14-9 and built a 17-11 advantage by the end of the quarter.

Roosevelt pulled to within two points at 23-21 with just over seven minutes to go in the second quarter after a Beggs three-point play, but the Titans began to take control, pulling away for a 43-29 half-time lead.  Unfortunately, the Lakers were unable to recover from the deficit, falling 92-59.
