Lakers Take Both Games From Cardinal Stritch in CCAC Conference Softball Doubleheader

FRANKLIN, Wis. – The Roosevelt University softball team swept a road CCAC Conference doubleheader from Cardinal Stritch University on Tuesday, April 13, winning the first game 16-3 and the second game 8-4 at the Rock Sports Complex in Franklin, Wis.

The Lakers left little doubt in game one, scoring three runs in the first inning and eight more in the second to blow the game wide open. Aisley Njissang (SR/Los Altos, Calif.) and Destini Nolan (FR/Midlothian, Ill.) both had three hits and drove in three runs, while Anaisa Lozada (SO/Bensenville, Ill.) also had three runs batted in on two hits. Kate Sisson (SO/Martinsville, Ind.) struck out six batters in picking up her ninth win of the season in the circle.

In game two, the Lakers once again jumped out to a big lead with three runs in the second and five in the third to take an 8-0 lead. The Wolves cut the margin down to 8-4 with three runs of their own in the bottom of the third and a solo run in the fourth off RU starting pitcher Hailey Getz. However, Getz shut out the hosts for the final three innings to record her seventh victory of the season.
