Men's Volleyball Falls To Trinity Christian College On The Road

PALOS HEIGHTS – The Roosevelt University men's volleyball traveled to the campus of Trinity Christian College for a CCAC conference matchup on Thursday, March 17 at DeVos Gymnasium, but could not keep pace with the Titans, falling in straights sets.  The Lakers are now 0-18 overall and 0-11 in the CCAC this season.

The Lakers kept things close early in the opening set behind a kill from Drake Schleihs. With the score tied 3-3, Trinity Christian began to pull away, scoring four straight points. After another kill by Kayan Abdou, the Trolls finished the set off at 25-9 to hold a one set advantage.

After having a chance to regroup, the Lakers came out ready to start the second set.  Off to a quick 4-1 start, Roosevelt held its ground. Thanks to a pair of kills from Shawn McCarthy, the Lakers were able to extend the margin to 8-4. A flurry from the Trolls cut the Lakers edge to 9-8. Trinity Christian then broke a 10-10 and did not look back, extend the advantage and winning the second set 25-15

The Trolls attack was too much to handle in the third and final set, getting out to a quick 8-2 lead to start the set. McCarthy was able to add another pair of kills to his total, but it was not enough. Trinity Christian continued building on its margin, winning 25-10 to take the match in straights set.
