Lakers Lose to Cardinal Stritch in CCAC Conference Men's Volleyball Match

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Roosevelt University men's volleyball team suffered a straight set loss to Cardinal Stritch University in CCAC Conference action on Tuesday, March 8 at Panella Court.  The loss dropped the Lakers overall record to 0-15 and their CCAC record to 0-8 on the season.

In the opening set, the Lakers trailed 4-3 before the Wolves scored four straight points to push their lead to 8-3.  Roosevelt was unable to cut into this deficit and dropped the set 25-18.

After falling behind 6-2 to begin the second set, the Lakers pulled to within 6-5.  However, Cardinal Stritch took control of the set from this point on, winning 25-9 to take a 2-0 match lead.

Roosevelt jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the third set and the two teams were deadlocked at 10-10 before the Lakers gained momentum, building a 21-15 advantage.  The Wolves chipped away at the RU lead, tying the set up at 22-22 and taking a 23-22 lead.  RU tied the set again, but Stritch scored the next point to serve for the match.  However, the Lakers fought off match point on three separate occasions and then went ahead twice at 27-26 and 28-27, but the Wolves stayed alive in the set and eventually won 30-28 to take the match.
