Middle Blocker Dayne Somers of Appleton West Commits to Roosevelt Men's Volleyball Program

CHICAGO – Dayne Somers from Appleton West High School (Wis.) has committed to play men's volleyball at Roosevelt University as announced by Head Coach Nick Spallina.

Somers is a 6'6" middle blocker and rightside hitter who hails from Appleton, Wis. He earned All-Conference Second Team honors while playing at Appleton West and he is the second men's volleyball player from the school to sign with the Lakers for next season.

"Dayne is another big reason why we are excited for our 2020 recruiting class," commented Coach Spallina. "He is a big body at 6'6 with a high volleyball I.Q. and can contribute both offensively and defensively. We are looking forward to being able to use Dayne in a variety of ways for the next four years and I know he will be a great addition to our program."

"I chose to attend Roosevelt University because of the location of the campus, it's great school for studying business, and the men's volleyball program," said the incoming Laker.

Somers will pursue a Bachelor's in Finance beginning this fall at Roosevelt.
