Men's & Women's Track & Field Set New School & Personal Records in the Pepsi Cumberlands Invitational & Distance Carnival

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Roosevelt University men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Pepsi Cumberlands Invitational and Distance Carnival on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9, which was hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.

The Lakers set a number of personal records, as well as a few school records, in the meet and the RU results are listed below.

On the men's side, Gabriel Martinez set new RU records in the shotput and the discus, while Stuart Patton Von Buskirk did the same in the triple jump and Dominic Gamez achieved a school record in the steeplechase.  Ernan Cruz and Cristian Martinez both set season personal records in the 1500 meters.

The RU women's team also set new personal records during the event with Angie Delgado and Crystal Ortiz recording PR's in both the 800 meters and 1500 meters.  Angela Louis also recorded a personal record in the 200 meters for the Lakers.
