Dorojan Named CCAC Player Of The Week
CHICAGO – Victor Dorojan made it two straight weeks of a Roosevelt tennis player being named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after earning the honor Thursday from the conference.
The Chicago native went 2-1 last week for the Lakers, including a marquee win over an NCAA Division I opponent, to help Roosevelt win two of its three matches. On March 12, Dorojan defated Percy Siercke of Chicago State 6-2, 6-4 in No. 3 singles action to clinch match point for the Lakers in a 4-3 win against the Cougars. He closed out the week on March 16 with an identical 6-2, 6-4 win over Owen Horton of Lawrence University at No. 3 singles to help Roosevelt beat the Vikings 8-1. Dorojan also teamed up with Florian Van Der Brink at No. 2 doubles to defeat the Lawrence pair 8-1 for his only doubles victory of the week.
Dorojan is the first player in the men's program's history to earn conference player of the week honors.
