Men's Tennis Tops St. Ambrose on Senior Day

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Roosevelt Lakers men's tennis team defeated the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees on Saturday, April 23 at the XS Tennis Village. The Lakers won a hard fought match 4-3, then celebrated senior Kerwin Chong post match.

The Lakers split the two doubles matches, with the team of Kerwin Chong and Justin Magale winning 6-4. Meanwhile the second doubles team of Kendrick Chong and Hamza Shaikh were narrowly edged in their match, 5-7.

In singles competition, Kerwin Chong continued his strong play, winning 6-1, 6-1 at number two singles. In the third singles spot, Chong's doubles partner Justin Magale also earned a point for the Lakers, winning 5-7, 7-6, 6-4. Needing one more point for the team win, Eloin Dunwoody came through for the Lakers winning in the fifth singles spot by a score of 6-4, 6-1.

6) Neither team fielded a sixth singles competitor
