Men's Soccer Earns Third Straight Victory With 1-0 CCAC Conference Win Over St. Francis

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University men's soccer team earned its third consecutive victory with a 1-0 CCAC Conference win over the University of St. Francis on Saturday, September 24 at Morris Field.  The Lakers are now 3-1 in conference play and 4-3 overall this season.

The Lakers dominated play throughout the first half, outshooting the Fighting Saints 11-0 during the first 45 minutes of play.  However, RU was held scoreless until the 32nd minute when Adam Przytula put in an Alan Rubio corner kick at the back post for the game's only goal and the junior's first goal of the season.

The game evened out in the second half, but it appeared that the Lakers added to their lead in the 72nd minute when Alan Rubio fired a 20-yard shot into the top left corner.  However, the officials conversed after the goal and disallowed the score, ruling Rubio had fouled a Fighting Saint to win the ball earlier in the play.  Despite the ruling, the Lakers held St. Francis scoreless the rest of the way for the conference win.
