Men's Soccer Drops CCAC Conference Season Opener to Cardinal Stritch

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University men's soccer team lost its 2022 CCAC Conference season opener, falling to visiting Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) by the score of 2-1 on Tuesday, September 13 at Morris Field.  The Lakers are now 0-1 in conference play and 1-3 overall this season.

The match was a physical affair, featuring 25 fouls on each team and a total of seven cautions, with the Wolves scoring the first goal in the 19th minute.  The score would remain 1-0 for the majority of the contest until a Roosevelt own goal put Cardinal Stritch up 2-0 in the 84th minute.

The Lakers answered back in the 88th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1 when Sebastian Rodriguez fired a shot from just outside the box for his first goal of the season.  RU continued to push for the equalizer in the final two minutes, but the Wolves fought off the Lakers' attack to secure the conference win.
