Lakers Can't Keep Pace with Governors State in CCAC Conference Men's Soccer Match

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University men's soccer team lost to Governors State University by the score of 4-1 on Tuesday, October 5 in a CCAC Conference match at Morris Field.  The loss dropped the Lakers conference record to 4-3 and their overall record to 4-4-1.

The Lakers fell behind 1-0 early in the game in the ninth minute, but RU evened things up on a goal by Alan Rubio just over six minutes later off an assist from Luis Arreola.  It appeared the game would remained tied at the half, but the Jaguars regained the lead in the 43rd minute and led 2-1 at the half-time break.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the majority of the second half, but Governors State scored two late goals 59 seconds apart in the 81st and 82nd minutes to put the game away and earn the 4-1 victory.
