Men's Soccer Defeats Saint Ambrose for Second Consecutive CCAC Conference Victory

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Roosevelt University men's soccer team won their second straight game after defeating Saint Ambrose University by the score of 3-2 on Tuesday, March 30 in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at Saint Vincent Athletic Complex in Davenport, Iowa.

The Lakers struck first in the 23rd minute when Antoniou Evagoras (FR/Limassol, Cyprus) found the back of the net for his first collegiate goal. The goal was the only one of the first half, but Roosevelt doubled its lead just over two minutes into the second half as Eduardo Hernandez (SO/Northlake, Ill.) scored his first goal of the year off a Gerardo Nicolas (FR/Joliet, Ill.) cross.

The Fighting Bees answered back within two minutes with a free kick goal, but the Lakers restored its two-goal advantage less than a minute later when Clever Zambrano (FR/Chicago, Ill.) tallied his first collegiate goal on a Jose Rivera (SO/Chicago, Ill.) assist. Saint Ambrose closed the gap to 3-2 in the 55th minute, but the Lakers were able to hold the Fighting Bees off the scoreboard the rest of the way for their second conference win.
