
Lakers End Fall Campaign At Whistling Straits
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Roosevelt shot 26 shots better in the second round Tuesday to finish 11th at the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate hosted at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Sheboygan, Wis.
Freshman Thomas Peluchon continued to lead the way for the Lakers, finishing in a tie for 20th with an overall score of +17. He made five birdies over the course of his two rounds over a golf course that has hosted such prestigious events such as the U.S. Open and Ryder Cup over the past decade.
Alvaro Pardo Gutierrez shot the best round of the event for Roosevelt with a 5-over 77 on Tuesday in the second round. The senior made four birdies on Tuesday to move into a tie for 33rd overall at +22, just a shot above classmate Charlie Curtis, who finished in a tie for 39th. Curtis carded an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole on Tuesday en route to a 79, one of just 14 players in the event to record an eagle.
Marc Waller scored his only two birdies of the event Tuesday while placing 51st overall while Matthew Webb finished in 74th while also scoring two birdies Tuesday.
The Lakers will begin their spring season in March as they search for a fourth straight Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference title in April.
