Paviet Named CCAC Golfer Of The Week

CHICAGO – Nicolas Paviet's second-place finish at the Cougar Spring Invitational earned him Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week for the week of March 27-April 2, the league announced Wednesday.

Paviet shot 3-over for the two-round event to help the Lakers finish second as a team in the tournament. The junior opened the tournament last Tuesday with three birdies en route to a 73, leaving him two shots off the individual lead. The following day, the Lyon, France native ran into some trouble early on the back nine, but closed with two birdies in the final three holes to shoot a 72, the third-best round of the day.

The French national is no stranger to CCAC awards, having been named the conference's golfer of the week in April 2021 before being named the CCAC Golfer of the Year that season. Paviet is also the second Lakers golfer this season to be honored by the league after Alvaro Pardo Gutierrez was named CCAC Golfer of the Week for the week of March 6-12.

"Nicolas' re-emergence to the Lakers this spring has provided a great boost to our team's overall play," Roosevelt head coach Don Morris said. "His birdie on the last hole of the Cougar Spring Invitational was a big putt for us as a team and for him individually. I hope last week's performance is a sign of things to come for us as we approach the conference championship at the end of the month."

Roosevelt next plays Sunday through Tuesday at the Ken Partridge Invitational in Noblesville, Indiana.
