Maurice Commander Selected CCAC Conference Player of the Week in Men's Basketball

CHICAGO – Roosevelt University's Maurice Commander earned CCAC Conference Player of the Week honors in men's basketball after averaging 24.5 points per game, while shooting 64.7 percent from three-point range (11-of-17) during the week ending December 3.

The graduate student guard began the seven-day stretch with a 29-point, six-rebound performance in a 76-67 conference win over Governors State University on November 29.  Commander shot 10-of-16 from the field, including six three-pointers in the victory.

Three days later, he made 5-of-6 three-point attempts to register 20 points in the Lakers 93-74 victory against Calumet College of St. Joseph, while also dishing out four assists in the contest.

Commander extended his streak of scoring 20-or-more points to three games with his pair of outings last week.  In addition, the guard shot a combined 57.1 percent from the field (16-of28) to go with his 3.5 rebounding and 2.0 assist averages.

Roosevelt remained unbeaten in CCAC Conference pay with a 3-0 record and improved its overall record to 9-1 on the year with the two league wins.
