Men's Basketball Wins Fourth Straight CCAC Conference Game With 59-52 Victory Over Lincoln

LINCOLN, Ill. – The Roosevelt University men's basketball team won its fourth consecutive CCAC Conference game with a 59-52 victory over Lincoln College on Saturday, December 18 at the Lincoln Center.  The Lakers now sit in third place and one game out of the top spot of the CCAC with a 6-2 record and are 9-4 overall this season.

Both teams struggled offensively and traded leads for the majority of the first half.  The Lakers picked up some momentum with Trenton Kyler coming off the bench and hitting two three-pointers and the visitors took a 25-24 to the locker room at the half.

The second half was more of the same offensively from each team, but Kyler continued to have a strong game, along with Caleb Brown, who came off the bench to register a double-double.  Strong free throw shooting by the Lakers in the second half and down the stretch pushed RU ahead in the final minutes as the Lakers went 10-of-12 from the line in the second half with Kyler hitting six of seven from the charity stripe in the final four minutes to earn the 59-52 conference victory.
