
Men's Basketball Knocks Off Calumet St. Joseph 86-66 for First CCAC Conference Victory of the Season
CHICAGO – The Roosevelt University men's basketball team picked up its first win of the season with an 86-66 CCAC Conference victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph on Wednesday, November 3 at the Goodman Center. The win evened the Lakers overall record at 1-1 and raised their conference record to 1-0 on the year.
The Lakers showed their dominance early on by scoring the first 15 points of the game with Justus Mouton scoring 11 of those points to put the game away. Roosevelt led by as many as 23 points on several occasions, including 53-30 at the half-time break.
In the second half, the Lakers didn't show any signs of slowing down, pushing their lead to 28 points and eventually winning by 20 points with a final score of 86-66.

"Our fast start gave us a cushion tonight and we were able to maintain a comfortable lead throughout," said Lakers Head Coach Joe Griffin. "However, we didn't come out to play in the second half and actually got out-played for much of the second half. It was great to see all the many contributions that we got and our depth really was the key in the victory."
