Lakers Take 3rd Place In Hip Hop Division

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Roosevelt's dance team took home third place in the Hip Hop category to add yet another trophy to the team's awards haul at the National Dance Association College Nationals on Saturday in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Lakers advanced to the final after finishing third of the eight teams that competed in the preliminary round. Roosevelt was less than a point out of first place after the preliminary round with a score of 83.7429. In the final, that scored improved by more than a point to 84.8857, but that still left the Lakers a little less than half a point behind the champions.

In the overall team competition, the Lakers started off strong by placing third in the preliminary round to advance to the finals. However, Roosevelt fell to seventh overall in the final performance to finish last of those who advanced out of the preliminaries.
