Six-Run Eighth Sends Baseball Past Indiana South Bend For Series Sweep

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A six-run outburst in the top of the eighth inning propelled the Roosevelt University baseball team to a 13-8 road win over host Indiana South Bend at Four Winds Field on Sunday, April 25.

The win helped the Lakers complete the three-game weekend series sweep.

Roosevelt led 4-0 after two innings, but the Titans chipped away and eventually tied the game in the sixth. The Lakers tacked on two in the seventh to reclaim the advantage, but IUSB scored four times in the bottom half of the inning to go up 8-6.

The Lakers didn't wait long to return the game in their favor, as RU scored runs on an error and three run-scoring singles to post a decisive six-spot on the scoreboard before tacking on an extra run in the ninth.
