Baseball Drops CCAC Conference Contest to Olivet Nazarene
CRESTWOOD, Ill. – The Roosevelt University baseball team dropped the first game of a three-game Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) series to Olivet Nazarene University, losing by the score of 8-4 on Friday, April 2 at Ozinga Field.
The Lakers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a Tyler Suchy (JR/Oak Forest, Ill.) RBI double, a balk, and a Chris Broccolino (SR/Schaumburg, Ill.) run scoring single. The Tigers got a run back in the top of the third off of RU starter Jordan Mikolajewski (SR/Plainfield, Ill.), and then added four runs in the seventh to take a 5-3 lead. Olivet Nazarene added three insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning, and Joshua Stivers (JR/Long Grove, Iowa) drove in a run with a base hit to right field in the bottom half for the 8-4 final score.
