Hulittle Joins Lakers As New Assistant Coach

CHICAGO – Roosevelt women's volleyball coach Nicasio Paquiz Jr. announced Thursday that Kennedi Hulittle has joined the program as an assistant coach.

Hulittle arrives in Chicago after three years as the head girls and boys volleyball coach at Beacon Academy in Evanston. She also has extensive experience as a coach at various club programs around the Chicagoland area. After graduating Fisk University in Nashville with her bachelor's degree in psychology in 2018, Hulittle spent the 2018 season as an assistant for the Bulldogs.

The Bolingbrook native also earned a master's degree in kinesiology, specializing in exercise and sport psychology, in 2021 from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

"I am excited and grateful to be the new assistant coach here at Roosevelt University," Hulittle said. "I want to thank coach Nicasio Paquiz Jr. for taking a chance on me. I'm looking forward to using the knowledge I gained during my master's degree program with the student athletes to help give them a mental edge over their competition. My love of volleyball, helping people, and wanting to see young student athletes succeed on and off the court will push me to make the program better every day for the current and future Lakers."

Hulittle played collegiately at Fisk and averaged two kills per set while hitting .249 during her four-year career. She also added 121 blocks during her career, including 44 as a freshman, and served up 95 aces with 181 digs in her four years.

Roosevelt is set to play its first full season as members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this fall as provisional members of NCAA Division II.

"I am looking forward to learning from and working with Kennedi," Paquiz said. "I think she will bring a fresh perspective and new ideas that our team can benefit from.  Her knowledge, willingness, and eagerness to help as we make this transition into the NCAA will be a huge asset toward our success moving forward.  I cannot wait to see the impact she will make on our program."
