Lakers Drop CCAC Conference Match to Judson in Women's Volleyball
CHICAGO – The Roosevelt University women's volleyball team dropped a CCAC Conference match, losing to Judson University in four sets on Tuesday, September 7 at the Goodman Center. With the loss, the Lakers are now 2-8 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Lakers fell behind 8-0 to open the first set and were unable to recover, losing 25-11 to trail 1-0 in the match. However, RU fought back in the second set to win a tight stanza 25-23 and even the match at 1-1.
The third set was another tight one with the two teams tied at 19-19 late in the set, but Judson took over and scored six straight points to win 25-19 and take a 2-1 lead. The Eagles continued that momentum into the fourth set, jumping out to a 9-3 lead and extending that lead to 24-12. However, the Lakers did not give up, breaking match point on seven occasions to close to within 24-19, but Judson closed out the set 25-19 and take the match as well.
