Lakers Lose in Straight Sets to Saint Xavier in CCAC Conference Women's Volleyball Match
CHICAGO – The Roosevelt University women's volleyball team travelled to the south side of Chicago on Tuesday, March 23 to square off against Saint Xavier University, dropping the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) match in straight sets at the Shannon Center.
The Lakers fell behind 6-1 in the first set, but fought back to take the lead and hold a 17-14 advantage. Saint Xavier regained the lead with Roosevelt doing the same to sit in great position with a 22-20 margin. However, the Cougars scored five of the next six points to overtake the Lakers and steal the set 25-23. In both the second and third sets, the Cougars pulled away from the Lakers mid-set to take the match in straight sets.
